Risk Management of Natural Disasters (DARY) program,
It is possible to reduce the damages of natural disasters and minimize the fatalities with multidisciplinary disaster management. This program; develops projects and methods for training people and making the environment resilient to natural disasters.
The aim of the Master of Science Program in Risk Management of Natural Disasters is to enable the student to gain the ability to access, evaluate and interpret information through scientific research. To this end, the Program on Risk Management of Natural Disasters was established on 28.10.2014. It continues to provide education with the contributions of faculty members from different disciplines.
Mission: To investigate the effects of surface and underground problems before and after the disaster, to examine the effects upon human health and psychology and to prepare for possible problems, to investigate the effects of all kinds of disasters. Also, to educate experts who are competent in eliminating disaster effects, via following developments in science and technology to develop oneself, having professional ethical values, sensitivity to the environment and society in the project processes, having creative and entrepreneurial characteristics.
Vision: To become a research center that can train our colleagues who can take part in projects that can intervene in national and international disasters through postgraduate education and can contribute to these projects both by generating ideas and realizing ideas.
Values: To demonstrate a reliable, transparent and student-oriented management approach while maintaining scientific ethical values, to be loyal to the competence area, to adhere to the principles of continuous improvement.
Objectives: To provide the students with the ability to apply disaster-related problems in their areas of expertise, to conduct interdisciplinary studies, to work with others in professional and social environments, to organize creative and integrative design activities in an effective manner, to conduct research and development in science and technology to provide advanced education to the experts who contribute to the field, to educate scientists with graduate-level vision, analytical thinking and ethical values.
